Background
Organica Vitamins & Health Foods is a locally owned and operated natural products retail store.

Organica uses a MicroBiz® Point of Sale system to handle their check out and inventory tracking.

Their primary distributor provides about 45% of stock items, with the remaining 55% stock items coming directly from over 95 direct manufacturers or wholesalers. This situation caused extensive out-of-stocks and missed sales opportunities simply because of the ordering difficulty.

These ordering problems lead the owner to briefly try Living Naturallys ScanGenius ordering system. The Living Naturally system was totally ineffective at solving our problems. Solution
Organica implemented OrderDogs online purchasing system using a Symbol SPT1550 Palm® Scanner.

OrderDog allows Organica to create orders using either their MicroBiz software or create orders using their scanner. Scanned items are assigned to purchase orders based on their purchasing rules. I could not believe how easy it was to start using OrderDog; no data to load, no complicated software. It was a breeze!

Organica has now reduced its out-of-stocks from 11% down to 6%. This reduction translated directly into a boost in overall sales. Since using OrderDog, our weekly distributor order is 4 times what it used to be.

In addition to reduced out-of-stocks, Organica has seen a significant increase in sales by utilizing OrderDogs special order features. Previously we were unknowingly losing business because we didnt have an effective way to locate new or unusual products requested by our customers.
